Kim Kardashian shares emotional details about her marriage to Kanye West, including mental health struggles, financial instability, and her journey to healing — all revealed on the Call Her Daddy podcast.
Kim Kardashian Gets Candid About Her Marriage to Kanye West
On the October 15 episode of Call Her Daddy, Kim Kardashian opened up about her past relationship with Kanye West, calling it “toxic” and emotionally draining. The SKIMS founder, 44, shared that she stayed in the marriage for years despite West’s mental health struggles, hoping to support him through his episodes.
“I would come home and we had like five Lamborghinis… and they’d all be gone. He gave them away to all of his friends,” Kim revealed.
She described the unpredictability of living with someone who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, saying, “I didn’t know what you’re gonna get when you wake up, and that’s like a really unsettling feeling.”

Why She Stayed — and Why She Left
Kim and Kanye were married from 2014 until their divorce was finalized in November 2022. They share four children: North (12), Saint (9), Chicago (7), and Psalm (6). Kim explained that leaving was especially difficult because of their kids, but ultimately necessary for her own mental health.
“Once my mental health starts to get affected and I can’t parent the way I need to… I had to save myself to be a better mom.”
She also cited Kanye’s public comments about her family and his unwillingness to make healthy changes as major turning points.
Reflections and Regrets?
Despite the pain, Kim doesn’t view the relationship as a failure.
“An over a decade relationship with four beautiful children is not a failure,” she said.
She admitted she tends to remember only the good in past relationships and hasn’t dated anyone seriously since her split from Pete Davidson in 2022.
Interestingly, her daughter North has been encouraging her to find love again.
“Mom, you’ve got to get remarried. You’re getting too old and no one is gonna deal with this,” Kim quoted North as saying.
What’s Next for Kim Kardashian?
Kim’s Call Her Daddy appearance comes ahead of two major premieres:
- Season 7 of The Kardashians – Oct. 23 on Hulu
- Her new legal drama All’s Fair – Nov. 4 on Hulu, starring Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, Niecy Nash-Betts, Sarah Paulson, and Teyana Taylor
In a preview for The Kardashians, Kim revealed she received a terrifying call from investigators about someone close to her allegedly putting a hit out on her life. She called the upcoming season “a whole different beast,” promising raw emotion and intense moments.

Mental Health and Moving Forward
Kanye West publicly disclosed his bipolar diagnosis in 2018 and has experienced both manic and depressive episodes. Kim’s decision to speak out about her experience highlights the emotional toll of supporting a partner through mental illness — and the importance of protecting one’s own well-being.
